A while back thestar.com.my started e-paper. That is the actual newspaper online. It piqued my curiosity and i clicked on it once when it first came out to see what it was all about; i have never used it again. Technology has advanced this far, and yet, nothing beats having the actual paper spread out on the floor or table before me where i can take in everything at once and manually zoom in to the sections that i like. Online papers also take out the fun from flipping pages - i like the rustling of pages instead of the *click* of the mouse. It is just not real.
I took a course once that required most of everything to be online- notes, assignments - thankfully lectures and exams required attendance. But studying for it was a chore, while people appaluded the idea of the cheaper althernative to buying textbooks, where everything is online and all required is a computer and valid internet connection, i ended up having to physically print or copy everything onto pieces of paper and then study...*disgusted look*
Most people that walk into open-book law exams have nicely typed and printed out notes. Pristine, neat and colour coded. I usually have loose paper with loads of doodlings, coloured pens and the occassional chewed corners (compliments from Bibit trying to study with me). Perhaps that is why i don't do as well in exams... but that is how i study.
Technology is moving at too rapid a rate - that is the only reason i can think of why i don't keep up with everyday news.
BRING BACK THE GOOD OLD PAPER!!!
i also realise this post makes no sense. ignore.
